Off-Site Trip Locations


Off-site trips have become a wonderful component to the summer camp experience. Each summer, camps have the opportunity to go and see spectacular locations while participating in unique and exciting activities. Off-site trips take place on Tuesday an Thursday.
    *campers K-2 do not participate in off-site trips.
 
Off-Site possibilities:
 
Shawnee State Park  (grades 3-12)
    Location: 20 minutes east of Pine Springs Camp on Route 30.
    Uses: canoeing, beach/water sports, hiking, fishing, picnics, swimming, field games
 
 
Laurel Mountain  (grades 3-12)
    Location: 15 minutes west of Pine Springs Camp on Route 30.
    Uses: hiking, bouldering, small caves
        * Some elements require the facilitation of Adventure staff.
 
Linn Run State Park  (grades 3-12)
    Location: 30 minutes west of Pine Springs Camp on Route 30
    Uses: Hiking, creek-walking, natural water slides, wadding pools, nature discovery
 
Coon Cave  (grades 6-12)
    Location: 10 miles north of Ligonier on Route 711
    Uses: Caving
        * Trip is lead by qualified Adventure staff.
 
Ohiopyle State Park (grades 6-12)
    Location: 1.5 hours south of Pine Springs Camp on Route 381
    Uses: hiking, bike trails, water slides, wadding pools, white water rafting
        *Ohiopyle is another great state park for campers to visit and explore. It is
          reserved for campers who have an emphasis in Outdoor Adventure.
        * Rafting is an activity that we have set aside strictly for Expedition Adventure.
           All rafting trips are guided tours through White Water Adventurers.
