In a few short
weeks I will “officially” begin my responsibilities as the Executive
Director of Pine Springs Camp. I am truly honored and humbled that
God has blessed me with the opportunity to be the Executive Director
of a ministry that has touched so many people’s hearts and lives since
1948. Pine Springs Camp is truly “holy ground” and I will be
committed to working with a devoted year round staff and a faithful
Board of Directors to be true to the transformational mission of
“leading the thirsty to springs of living water.”
Here is a brief
bio as a form of introduction. My wife, Ellie and I have been
involved in various aspects of ministry for the past 22 years. We met
while working for the Coalition for Christian Outreach at Washington
and Jefferson College and then served at Waynesburg College for nine
years. After leaving Waynesburg College, I continued to work in
Higher Education as an Assistant Dean of Students at a Wheeling Jesuit
University. Four years ago God called us into camping ministry and we
found it to be an incredibly fun, challenging and rewarding
experience. I served as the Associate Executive Director at Ligonier
Camp and Conference Center and witnessed how God uses camping ministry
to mold, shape and build His kingdom. I look forward to continuing to
see God work at Pine Springs Camp.
Ellie and I have
two children, Jackie, our thirteen-year-old daughter and Joey, our
nine-year-old son. Jackie is on the local YMCA gymnastics team and is
playing volleyball for the first time. Joey loves most sports, plays
the piano and loves the Chicago Cubs! Ellie is a gifted speaker, has a
passion for women’s ministry and is a fabulous baker. I like to eat
Ellie’s baked goods, play old man’s basketball and, like Joey, am an
avid Cubs fan! (This is their year by the way!)
As another summer
of ministry approaches, please pray for the impending transition, pray
for the year-round staff, summer staff and most importantly that each
camper will have a life changing vital encounter with Jesus Christ
this summer.
In Christ,
- Greg Davis
